PRIDE COVID POLICIES Implemented July 1, 2020
Covid Policies
-All classes will be held in studio/gym and also available via zoom.
-All classes will end up to 5 min early to allow time to clean and sanitize between classes. This also allows for social distancing between classes so no classes cross paths.
-Social distancing will remain in the classroom at all times.
-The lobby is closed and parents are encouraged to drop off and pick up only. If you have a child 5 and under you are permitted to come in but required to wear a mask. We ask that you drop off and pick up from your car and there is no lobby waiting. This helps ensure we do not exceed the spacing guidelines outlined by the CDC.
-Students please stay in your car until a teacher comes and says it is time to come in. Then, the teacher will instruct you to walk directly to your class and stand on a spot that has been marked for you.
MASK POLICY
-Students are not required to wear a mask during class due to physical activity, however, encouraged to wear one in and out of the building.
-If any visitors (parents, guardians) need to come in the building, you are required to wear a mask. Adults, please do not enter unless absolutely necessary and never enter without a mask.
EXPOSURE POLICY
-If you are anyone in your household has been exposed to someone who tested positive for Covid-19, you must quarantine yourself from the studio for 14 days.
-All dancers must be fever free without the use of medication for 72 hours before coming to in studio classes.
TESTING REPORTING
It is very important that we keep track of any student who is either exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or who has tested positive for COVID-19. Please e-mail us at prideofarkansas@gmail.com to report any exposure or positive testing so that we can fulfill our responsibility to let students who may have been exposed at the studio know of that risk. We will keep all exposures and positive test reports ANONYMOUS to protect the privacy of students, but it is our moral duty to all that we can to continue to protect our students on an ongoing basis.
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP SO WE CANT CONTINUE TO DO WHAT WE LOVE...DANCE AND TUMBLE!
COVID UPDATE 4.30.20
Hello Pride Families,
Today Governor Hutchinson announced the reopening of gyms with special restrictions can happen May 4th. We are happy to announce, that with restrictions, we will be able to re-open in the month of May. We are excited to see all of our students again.
Pride plans to re-open Monday May 11th. This gives us a chance to make sure all precautions are in place protecting our staff and students. We will continue online classes the week of Monday May 4th. We will also continue to host classes online for the rest of the spring semester for those who may not feel comfortable coming to class. Every in studio class will also be available to join in via zoom for anyone who would prefer to continue to take class online. We totally understand some families may feel more comfortable with this option so we want to make sure it is available. Please choose the option that is best for your family. Prior to May 11th we will send out an e-mail detailing the precautions we are putting in place for the remainder of the semester, guided by the recommendations from the Arkansas Department of Health.
Due to some of the social distancing restrictions, we will be reevaluating class sizes this week. If you plan for your student to continue to attend class online only please let us know by Monday May 4th so we can appropriately plan class size. If we do not hear from you we will assume your student plans to be in class starting the week of May 11th.
Further, we appreciate your support during this challenging time. We hope the virtual academy has been a great tool for you to use and a bridge to utilize until we are all back in the studio. We plan to continue to utilize the virtual academy in the future semesters as it is going to be great tool connecting the gym and studio to home practice. So much love and support has spilled out throughout all of this and I cannot express how grateful I am for our pride community. If you have sent an e-mail today and wish to drop for the remainder of the semester, you may do so by filling out the form I will link below. This is the only way we can manually drop you. Normally, forms must be turned in by the 15th of the month to process, however, due to the circumstances you can turn in it by 4:00 tomorrow (Friday the 1st) and we will honor it. We hope you will give us the opportunity to continue to serve and coach you, as we cannot wait to see your kiddos again and get back to work .
Please look for an slightly adjusted schedule to be released early next week so we will be able to adhere to the guidelines set by the Arkansas Department of Health for the remainder of the semester. Please also look for our new guidelines to be sent out that we will follow throughout the summer.
Thank you so much! We look forward to seeing you in class or online soon.

COVID 19 UPDATE 4.20.2020
As of today, The Pride of Arkansas Cheer and Dance Academy plans to be closed until Monday May 18th. On Monday May 18th we will re-open with a modified spring makeup schedule. Further, our virtual academy and zoom classes will continue indefinitely. This is all tentative based upon our communication with the chamber of commerce and when the governor says it is safe for phase 2 businesses to start to reopen. Our online academy is reserved for students who continue to stay enrolled.
Upon reopening we will have many new policies and procedures in place to ensure the safety of our teachers and students. More info on these new policies will be announced closer to our re-open date but includes limited class sizes, only one guardian per studio allowed in building, suggested drop off and no stay policy, 6 ft apart markings on floor in studio to ensure space between students, and strict pick up policy if student feels ill.
Right now we have no decision regarding a recital. We are going to wait until May 4th and see what CDC recommends and make a decision going forward.
We appreciate your continued support more than we can express and look forward to continue to serve you online at this time. Our summer programs do plan to continue on as scheduled.
Thank you,
McKenzi Walker
COVID 19 UPDATE 4/2/2020
The Covid-19 pandemic is a fluid situation which has caused us to reevaluate how we can best continue to serve you for the remainder of the spring season. I have consulted with many other studio owners, medical professionals, and my staff, as well as listened to the mandates put in place by Governor Hutchinson and have come up with a plan that I think will help best serve the families of Pride going forward this semester. Again, this situation is fluid so if things change and I need to reevaluate in the future I will do so accordingly.
I am sure you have seen that Arkansas schools are scheduled to remain closed until April 17th, and plan to restart April 20th. This will be 3 weeks out of class. We are planning to follow this initiative and also close our doors for those three weeks.
Our previous semester schedule had the last week of spring semester classes at Pride being the week of May 11th-15th with recital scheduled for May 16th. Since we will be out for 3 weeks, we are going to extend our spring semester 3 additional weeks through June 5th. Further, we are planning to move our recital date to June as well. Currently, it is difficult to get in touch with school recital venue coordinators since schools are closed and it is technically spring break. Our tentative recital date change will be June 5th. Our backup recital date will be June 12th with rehearsal on the 11th. Once we hear back from our venues I will give you our final recital date as soon as possible. I apologize for the recital date change as I know the date has been on everyone's calendars since September. However, during these unprecedented times I feel the recital date change will be best for everyone.
Over the weekend my staff and I will be filming online class content for you to be practicing over the next three weeks at home. You will be able to find this content through your dancestudiopro account. I will e mail you when the material is available. If you need help logging into your dance studio pro account please send me an e-mail and I will be happy to help you! The key will be in staying engaged, active, and participating with us! We can do this together and we are committed to your dance and tumble training. Many studios are moving to the online platform only for the remainder of the year. However, we think combining online training with getting back into class will best best for our students. Extending our spring semester is the best option for us at this time. We believe online training can be a good tool, but cannot be a complete replacement for in studio training.
In regards to tuition moving forward, our tuition schedule will remain the same for April and May. You will be charged April and May as scheduled, and will not be charged in June. Here is our reasoning. Since we will be missing 3 weeks in April and extending our spring semester those 3 weeks, we will be having the same amount of class with a 3 week hiatus. Again, this is an unprecedented time and we are trying to navigate the best possible way! Please reach out with any questions or concerns.
We pride ourselves in keeping our class sizes small and limiting them to a max of 12 people. However, there may be a few classes we feel it is best we split into two smaller classes for the remainder of the year. If this effects you, your class will get an individual e-mail letting you know our plans to split.
Costume Ordering! We need your help! We will need your help measuring your child for recital costumes and taking costume payments online. I will send you a costume measuring tutorial for each class and give you step by step information. We can't wait to see your babies up there on stage and will make sure they get the most perfect costume for them.
Once classes resume there are a few extra precautions we will be taking to protect our staff and students:
-no one is allowed to come to Pride if they have traveled in the past 14 days
-our studio will be a drop off only, as we urge family members not to stay in lobby. Staff will be assisting with drop off and pickup and help your students in and out of the building. Students 6 and under will be permitted to have one family member stay with them if necessary. This is to help keep the number of people in our studio small.
-our studio has been completely disinfected and we remain committed to keeping it this way. Further, ballet barres/door handles/panel mats will be wiped down and cleaned in between classes
Our summer schedule is up and active and will remain the same. The only changes we will make is we will cancel week 1 of the technique intensive to accommodate our extended spring schedule. Further, we will move our company auditions to a later date. Stay tuned, we will e-mail shortly what date that will be.
Again, thank you for choosing Pride and we look forward to continue to serve you during this time!
Company members, please look out for an additional information regarding training opportunities over this break and competition updates.
Thank you,
