Dance Dress Code
It’s important for students abide by a dress code policy for the following reasons:
1. A neat and tidy appearance sets an attitude of attentiveness and respect for fellow students, teacher,
and the art of dance.
2. Teachers must be able to see the dancer's body outline clearly in order to make proper
corrections on posture, alignment, etc.
3. Hair must be properly secured and tied up off of the face in a ponytail or bun for all styles of dance.
Pride always has extra hair elastics available if you forget yours!
4. No necklaces, any jewelry must not be loose or dangling.
5. Gum chewing is not allowed due to danger of choking and distraction.
6. No loose fitting pants, Nike shorts, blue jeans or t-shirts, as they are not dance attire.
7. No costumes are allowed in class unless a dress up day is announced by the individual teacher.
8. Leotard and tights or athletic wear (hip-hop) are required for all classes, unless noted otherwise.
9. Please make sure you have the correct shoes for each style of dance, and bring them
in your dance bag for each practice.
Cheer/Tumbling Dress Code
